Meet Jacqueline Manger

Jacqueline is an advocate, community leader, businesswoman and educator. Since moving to Montgomery County nearly 20 years ago with her family she has been a working mom, dedicated to making a positive impact in her community.  From “behind the scenes” volunteer positions, to leadership positions on various boards, commissions, and committees, Jacqueline has contributed her time and expertise to raise funds, increase organizational effectiveness, and support other community leaders as a sounding board, mentor and advocate. Building partnerships to deliver results has been a hallmark of her professional career. Jacqueline enjoys getting things done and will be a strong and inclusive voice for the residents of District 7.

After nearly 30 years working in multiple industries in executive leadership roles she joined the University of Maryland as Managing Director of the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets, a Center for Excellence at the RH Smith School of Business. Passionate about the positive impacts business and economic development can have on society, creating the opportunity for individuals to lead purpose-driven lives, she teaches entrepreneurship and advises startup teams bringing a practical approach from her experience as CEO of a fin-tech startup.

Prior to her startup experience Jacqueline spent 20 years in the investment management industry as a chief operating officer, compliance officer and chief financial officer. She has started and grown businesses right here in Montgomery County. An MBA graduate of the RH Smith School at UMD, she studied communications at Boston University, and earned a BS in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University and an Accounting certificate from UMUC.

Jacqueline has successfully advocated at the local, state and federal level to bring funding into county non-profits and has experience with the county’s budget process. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Olney Theatre Center, the Academic Board of the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center, is Treasurer of the Stanmore Homeowners Association and is an Advisor to the Intentional Life Lab. Her breadth of experience will make her an asset to the County Council and an effective advocate for you.

"For decades now, my family and I have been called to serve the Montgomery County community. I am always actively engaged in something; from volunteering, to serving on the boards of local nonprofits, to educating our future entrepreneurs, this service brings me great joy. As Council Member, I will continue this service and provide the people of District 7 with the meaningful, transparent representation they deserve." Jacqueline Manger
